  • Practice is important for the brain to learn. Mindful practice is most important for sustainable change. Learn to practice with mindfulness. Frequency of practice influences sustainable change.

We don’t prescribe exercises as such, as Feldenkrais® is not an exercise program. Rather, we teach integration practices to encourage you to regularly mindfully check in with your body, thoughts, feelings and how they impact how you engage in life. Learn skills for self-awareness, self-management and personal growth.

Together we decide how to best meet your needs. We offer many options for investing in yourself: group classes, appointments and self-paced programs. Remember this is about putting YOU front and centre. 😀

  • Feldenkrais is a ‘suffering-is-optional’ method! Unlike exercise programs we do not subscribe to a ‘no-pain-no-gain’ ethos. Instead, you are encouraged to move slowly gently, make very small movements and do only as much as you feel you can comfortably. Dr Moshe Feldenkrais believed that if you use effort/strain to do something, then you block your ability to learn how to do something well. You also risk injury with pushing.

This is about the PROCESS of HOW you can find ease, rather than a goal-oriented outcome of how far you move.

Often you will be asked to imagine doing the movements. Research shows that your muscles fibres still ‘fire’ when you are imagining yourself undertaking a movement, so you still experience benefit.

Try a class and see how much better you can feel having used minimal effort. Book a class here.

  • Bring with you an open mind: a willingness to be curious, explore, and have fun discovering greater embodied ease, calm and vitality through gentle guided attention and movement.

Classes are taught in lying, sitting and standing. You will need to be able to get on/off the floor independently- with aid of a chair if needed.

Bring to classes/workshops a couple of towels for head/body support to help make yourself more comfortable.

  • You always remain fully clothed, except for shoes, belt and glasses. Wear loose fitting clothing so that you can move easily without being restricted. A warm layer is often useful because you can get a little cold (as we’re not doing huge movements).

Classes are a lycra-free zone! 😉 Seriously though, you can wear lycra if you like! There are no mirrors and it’s not a fashion parade! 😀

Have a couple of towels handy for head/body support to make yourself more comfortable.

  • Working together is a process, NOT a quick fix. We strongly encourage you try a class or appointment to see whether we’re a good fit before committing to working together.

Think of it as your commitment to YOU, now and for the future! You’re committing to a process of exploration, discovery and learning. Allow yourself time and space to learn skills for empowering healing, self-care, self-management and personal growth.

  • Appointments and classes are able to be rescheduled up to 3 hours before start time.

Cancellation within 3 hours of an appointment or missed appointments will be charged the full fee. Pre-paid missed classes will be forfeited.

**We realise that unavoidable circumstances may occur. Please note that a one-time waiver is granted for a late cancellation.
